Romanian rescuers were searching for seven crew members from the tanker Wine Trader following reported strikes and a fire off Romania, according to The Maritime Executive's 15 October report. The publisher says five people were evacuated from the vessel.
The report describes difficult weather during the rescue. It also says a second tanker, Yara J, had reported being struck; its crew were reported uninjured and the ship was heading for Constanța.
NATO's secretary general discussed Black Sea security with Romanian and Bulgarian leaders, according to the same report. The missing-person and evacuation figures are those in the publisher's account.
